An $n$-th order Lagrangian Forward Model for Large-Scale Structure

no code implementations17 Dec 2020 Fabian Schmidt

A forward model of matter and biased tracers at arbitrary order in Lagrangian perturbation theory (LPT) is presented.

Information content in the redshift-space galaxy power spectrum and bispectrum

no code implementations8 Jul 2020 Nishant Agarwal, Vincent Desjacques, Donghui Jeong, Fabian Schmidt

We present a Fisher information study of the statistical impact of galaxy bias and selection effects on the estimation of key cosmological parameters from galaxy redshift surveys; in particular, the angular diameter distance, Hubble parameter, and linear growth rate at a given redshift, the cold dark matter density, and the tilt and running of the primordial power spectrum.

A rigorous EFT-based forward model for large-scale structure

no code implementations6 Aug 2018 Fabian Schmidt, Franz Elsner, Jens Jasche, Nhat Minh Nguyen, Guilhem Lavaux

We further show that the information captured by this likelihood is equivalent to the combination of the next-to-leading order galaxy power spectrum, leading-order bispectrum, and BAO reconstruction.

Precision measurement of the local bias of dark matter halos

no code implementations3 Nov 2015 Titouan Lazeyras, Christian Wagner, Tobias Baldauf, Fabian Schmidt

We present accurate measurements of the linear, quadratic, and cubic local bias of dark matter halos, using curved "separate universe" N-body simulations which effectively incorporate an infinite-wavelength overdensity.

Separate Universe Simulations

no code implementations22 Sep 2014 Christian Wagner, Fabian Schmidt, Chi-Ting Chiang, Eiichiro Komatsu

The large-scale statistics of observables such as the galaxy density are chiefly determined by their dependence on the local coarse-grained matter density.
