Revealing defect-induced spin disorder in nanocrystalline Ni

no code implementations23 Nov 2020 Mathias Bersweiler, Evelyn Pratami Sinaga, Nozomu Adachi, Philipp Bender, Nina-Juliane Steinke, Elliot Paul Gilbert, Yoshikazu Todaka, Andreas Michels, Yojiro Oba

We combine magnetometry and magnetic small-angle neutron scattering to study the influence of the microstructure on the macroscopic magnetic properties of a nanocrystalline Ni bulk sample, which was prepared by straining via high-pressure torsion.

Neutron study of magnetic correlations in rare-earth-free Mn-Bi magnets

no code implementations23 Nov 2020 Artem Malyeyev, Ivan Titov, Philipp Bender, Mathias Bersweiler, Vitaliy Pipich, Sebastian Mühlbauer, Semih Ener, Oliver Gutfleisch, Andreas Michels

We report the results of an unpolarized small-angle neutron scattering (SANS) study on Mn-Bi-based rare-earth-free permanent magnets.

The benefits of a Bayesian analysis for the characterization of magnetic nanoparticles

1 code implementation19 May 2020 Mathias Bersweiler, Helena Gavilan Rubio, Dirk Honecker, Andreas Michels, Philipp Bender

Magnetic nanoparticles offer a unique potential for various biomedical applications, but prior to commercial usage a standardized characterization of their structural and magnetic properties is required.

Imaging nanostructured spin textures

1 code implementation31 Mar 2020 Philipp Bender, Jonathan Leliaert, Mathias Bersweiler, Dirk Honecker, Andreas Michels

The major challenge regarding magnetic SANS is accessing the real-space magnetization vector field from the reciprocal scattering data.
