Data-driven MHD simulation of successive solar plasma eruptions

no code implementations29 Jan 2021 Takafumi Kaneko, Sung-Hong Park, Kanya Kusano

We developed a data-driven method in which temporal evolutions of the observational vector magnetic field can be reproduced at the bottom boundary in the simulation by introducing an inverted velocity field.

CycleQSM: Unsupervised QSM Deep Learning using Physics-Informed CycleGAN

no code implementations7 Dec 2020 Gyutaek Oh, Hyokyoung Bae, Hyun-Seo Ahn, Sung-Hong Park, Jong Chul Ye

In contrast to the conventional cycleGAN, our novel cycleGAN has only one generator and one discriminator thanks to the known dipole kernel.

An Observational Test of Solar Plasma Heating by Magnetic Flux Cancellation

no code implementations16 May 2020 Sung-Hong Park

The observed cancellation event exhibits a converging motion of two opposite-polarity magnetic patches on the photosphere and red-shifted Doppler velocities (downflows) therein consistently over the target interval, with a decrease in magnetic flux of both polarities at a rate of 10$^{15}$ Mx s$^{-1}$.

Quantitative Susceptibility Map Reconstruction Using Annihilating Filter-based Low-Rank Hankel Matrix Approach

no code implementations25 Apr 2018 Hyun-Seo Ahn, Sung-Hong Park, Jong Chul Ye

Quantitative susceptibility mapping (QSM) inevitably suffers from streaking artifacts caused by zeros on the conical surface of the dipole kernel in k-space.
