Depth-only Object Tracking

no code implementations22 Oct 2021 Song Yan, Jinyu Yang, Ales Leonardis, Joni-Kristian Kamarainen

There are two potential reasons for the heuristics: 1) the lack of large RGBD tracking datasets to train deep RGBD trackers and 2) the long-term evaluation protocol of VOT RGBD that benefits from heuristics such as depth-based occlusion detection.

Monolithic vs. hybrid controller for multi-objective Sim-to-Real learning

1 code implementation17 Aug 2021 Atakan Dag, Alexandre Angleraud, Wenyan Yang, Nataliya Strokina, Roel S. Pieters, Minna Lanz, Joni-Kristian Kamarainen

Our findings show that the training of a hybrid controller is easier and obtains a better success-failure trade-off than a monolithic controller.

DepthTrack: Unveiling the Power of RGBD Tracking

1 code implementation ICCV 2021 Song Yan, Jinyu Yang, Jani Kapyla, Feng Zheng, Ales Leonardis, Joni-Kristian Kamarainen

This can be explained by the fact that there are no sufficiently large RGBD datasets to 1) train "deep depth trackers" and to 2) challenge RGB trackers with sequences for which the depth cue is essential.

Object Tracking by Reconstruction with View-Specific Discriminative Correlation Filters

no code implementations CVPR 2019 Ugur Kart, Alan Lukezic, Matej Kristan, Joni-Kristian Kamarainen, Jiri Matas

Standard RGB-D trackers treat the target as an inherently 2D structure, which makes modelling appearance changes related even to simple out-of-plane rotation highly challenging.

Object Detection in Equirectangular Panorama

1 code implementation21 May 2018 Wenyan Yang, Yanlin Qian, Francesco Cricri, Lixin Fan, Joni-Kristian Kamarainen

We introduced a high-resolution equirectangular panorama (360-degree, virtual reality) dataset for object detection and propose a multi-projection variant of YOLO detector.

Recurrent Color Constancy

no code implementations ICCV 2017 Yanlin Qian, Ke Chen, Jarno Nikkanen, Joni-Kristian Kamarainen, Jiri Matas

We introduce a novel formulation of temporal color constancy which considers multiple frames preceding the frame for which illumination is estimated.

Pose Estimation using Local Structure-Specific Shape and Appearance Context

no code implementations23 Aug 2017 Anders Glent Buch, Dirk Kraft, Joni-Kristian Kamarainen, Henrik Gordon Petersen, Norbert Krüger

We address the problem of estimating the alignment pose between two models using structure-specific local descriptors.

Deep Structured-Output Regression Learning for Computational Color Constancy

no code implementations13 Jul 2016 Yanlin Qian, Ke Chen, Joni-Kristian Kamarainen, Jarno Nikkanen, Jiri Matas

Computational color constancy that requires esti- mation of illuminant colors of images is a fundamental yet active problem in computer vision, which can be formulated into a regression problem.

Unsupervised Visual Alignment With Similarity Graphs

no code implementations CVPR 2015 Fatemeh Shokrollahi Yancheshmeh, Ke Chen, Joni-Kristian Kamarainen

In this work, we adopt the feature basedapproach, but to overcome the aforementioned drawbacks define visual similarity as an assignment problem which is solved by fast approximation and non-linear optimization. From pair-wise image similarities we construct an image graph which is used to step-wise align,``morph'', an image to another by graph traveling.
