MERGE -- A Bimodal Dataset for Static Music Emotion Recognition

no code implementations8 Jul 2024 Pedro Lima Louro, Hugo Redinho, Ricardo Santos, Ricardo Malheiro, Renato Panda, Rui Pedro Paiva

To comprehensively assess the proposed datasets and establish a baseline for benchmarking, we conducted several experiments for each modality, using feature engineering, machine learning, and deep learning methodologies.

Classification of Electrical Impedance Tomography Data Using Machine Learning

no code implementations2 Aug 2021 Diogo Pessoa, Bruno Machado Rocha, Grigorios-Aris Cheimariotis, Kostas Haris, Claas Strodthoff, Evangelos Kaimakamis, Nicos Maglaveras, Inéz Frerichs, Paulo de Carvalho, Rui Pedro Paiva

In this article, we present a new approach to promote the use of EIT data and the implementation of new clinical applications for differential diagnosis, with the development of several machine learning models to discriminate between EIT data from healthy and non-healthy subjects.

Influence of Event Duration on Automatic Wheeze Classification

no code implementations4 Nov 2020 Bruno M. Rocha, Diogo Pessoa, Alda Marques, Paulo Carvalho, Rui Pedro Paiva

Then, by changing one parameter in the design of the non-wheeze class, i. e., event duration, the best classifier only reached sensitivity and specificity values of 55% and 76%, respectively.

Accurate Segmentation of Dermoscopic Images based on Local Binary Pattern Clustering

no code implementations17 Feb 2019 Pedro M. M. Pereira, Rui Fonseca-Pinto, Rui Pedro Paiva, Luis M. N. Tavora, Pedro A. A. Assuncao, Sergio M. M. de Faria

Segmentation is a key stage in dermoscopic image processing, where the accuracy of the border line that defines skin lesions is of utmost importance for subsequent algorithms (e. g., classification) and computer-aided early diagnosis of serious medical conditions.
