A Deep Probabilistic Framework for Continuous Time Dynamic Graph Generation

no code implementations20 Dec 2024 Ryien Hosseini, Filippo Simini, Venkatram Vishwanath, Henry Hoffmann

In this work, we propose a fundamentally different approach: We instead directly model interactions as a joint probability of an edge forming between two nodes at a given time.

Mesh-based Super-Resolution of Fluid Flows with Multiscale Graph Neural Networks

no code implementations12 Sep 2024 Shivam Barwey, Pinaki Pal, Saumil Patel, Riccardo Balin, Bethany Lusch, Venkatram Vishwanath, Romit Maulik, Ramesh Balakrishnan

To facilitate mesh-based GNN representations in a manner similar to spectral (or finite) element discretizations, a baseline GNN layer (termed a message passing layer, which updates local node properties) is modified to account for synchronization of coincident graph nodes, rendering compatibility with commonly used element-based mesh connectivities.

Operation-Level Performance Benchmarking of Graph Neural Networks for Scientific Applications

1 code implementation20 Jul 2022 Ryien Hosseini, Filippo Simini, Venkatram Vishwanath

At a high level, we conclude that on NVIDIA systems: (1) confounding bottlenecks such as memory inefficiency often dominate runtime costs moreso than data sparsity alone, (2) native Pytorch operations are often as or more competitive than their Pytorch Geometric equivalents, especially at low to moderate levels of input data sparsity, and (3) many operations central to state-of-the-art GNN architectures have little to no optimization for sparsity.
