Example EPCIS Event Chain
Introduced by Glew et al. in A solution approach for the anonymous sharing of sensitive supply chain traceability data
This is an example data set for a hypothetical electronic products supply network.
The supply network consists of six actors. A simple electronic product is assembled by Manufacturer C with components from Supplier A and Supplier B. The product is sold to consumers by Retailer D or Retailer E. Finally, at the end of life, the product is returned to be recycled by Reseller F.
This dataset may be used as a (semi) realistic and non-trivial chain (actually DAG) of business events, expressed in the GS1 EPCIS standard, to demonstrate tracking in e.g. provenance or recall use cases.
