A superlattice approach to doping infinite-layer nickelates

no code implementations10 Feb 2021 R. A. Ortiz, D. T. Mantadakis, F. Misják, K. Fürsich, E. Schierle, G. Christiani, G. Logvenov, U. Kaiser, B. Keimer, P. Hansmann, E. Benckiser

The recent observation of superconductivity in infinite-layer Nd$_{1-x}$Sr$_x$NiO$_2$ thin films has attracted a lot of attention, since this compound is electronically and structurally analogous to the superconducting cuprates.

Tunable spin-flop transition in artificial ferrimagnets

no code implementations15 Jan 2021 N. O. Antropov, E. A. Kravtsov, M. V. Makarova, V. V. Proglyado, T. Keller, I. A. Subbotin, E. M. Pashaev, G. V. Prutskov, A. L. Vasiliev, Yu. M. Chesnokov, N. G. Bebenin, V. V. Ustinov, B. Keimer, Yu. N. Khaydukov

Spin-flop transition (SFT) consists in a jump-like reversal of antiferromagnetic magnetic moments into a non-collinear state when the magnetic field increases above the critical value.

All-Optical and Microwave-Free Detection of Meissner Screening using Nitrogen-Vacancy Centers in Diamond

no code implementations12 Jan 2021 D. Paone, D. Pinto, G. Kim, L. Feng, M-J. Kim, R. Stöhr, A. Singha, S. Kaiser, G. Logvenov, B. Keimer, J. Wrachtrup, K. Kern

Here, we present an all-optical, microwave-free method, that utilizes the negatively charged nitrogen-vacancy (NV) center in diamond as a non-invasive quantum sensor and enables the spatial detection of the Meissner state in a superconducting thin film.

We report a comprehensive Cu L$_3$-edge resonant x-ray scattering study of two- and three-dimensional (2D and 3D) incommensurate charge correlations in single crystals of the underdoped high-temperature superconductor YBa$_2$Cu$_3$O$_{6. 67}$ under uniaxial compression up to 1% along the two inequivalent Cu-O-Cu bond directions (a and b) in the CuO$_2$ planes.
