Investigating Cosmological GAN Emulators Using Latent Space Interpolation

1 code implementation21 Apr 2020 Andrius Tamosiunas, Hans A. Winther, Kazuya Koyama, David J. Bacon, Robert C. Nichol, Ben Mawdsley

Recent results show that GANs can be used as a fast, efficient and computationally cheap emulator for producing novel weak lensing convergence maps as well as cosmic web data in 2-D and 3-D.

Hybrid $P_{\ell}(k)$: general, unified, non-linear matter power spectrum in redshift space

1 code implementation11 Nov 2019 Benjamin Bose, Hans A. Winther, Alkistis Pourtsidou, Santiago Casas, Lucas Lombriser, Qianli Xia, Matteo Cataneo

We test this approach against comoving Lagrangian acceleration simulation measurements performed in GR, DGP and $f(R)$ gravity and find that our method performs comparably or better to the dark matter TNS redshift space power spectrum model for dark matter.

Beyond BAO: improving cosmological constraints from BOSS with measurement of the void-galaxy cross-correlation

no code implementations1 Apr 2019 Seshadri Nadathur, Paul M. Carter, Will J. Percival, Hans A. Winther, Julian Bautista

Combining void information with that from BAO and galaxy RSD in the same CMASS sample, we measure $D_A(0. 57)/r_s=9. 36\pm0. 07$ (at 0. 75% precision), $H(0. 57)r_s=(14. 03\pm0. 16)\;10^3$ kms$^{-1}$Mpc$^{-1}$ (1. 1%) and $f\sigma_8=0. 450\pm0. 019$ (4. 2%), consistent with cosmic microwave background (CMB) measurements from Planck.

COLA with scale-dependent growth: applications to screened modified gravity models

1 code implementation2 Mar 2017 Hans A. Winther, Kazuya Koyama, Marc Manera, Bill S. Wright, Gong-Bo Zhao

We present a general parallelized and easy-to-use code to perform numerical simulations of structure formation using the COLA (COmoving Lagrangian Acceleration) method for cosmological models that exhibit scale-dependent growth at the level of first and second order Lagrangian perturbation theory.

A Fast Route to Non-Linear Clustering Statistics in Modified Gravity Theories

2 code implementations25 Mar 2014 Hans A. Winther, Pedro G. Ferreira

We propose a simple and computationally fast method for performing N-body simulations for a large class of modified gravity theories with a screening mechanism such as chameleons, symmetrons and galileons.
