Comparing Color Similarity Structures between Humans and LLMs via Unsupervised Alignment

no code implementations8 Aug 2023 Genji Kawakita, Ariel Zeleznikow-Johnston, Naotsugu Tsuchiya, Masafumi Oizumi

These results contribute to our understanding of the ability of LLMs to accurately infer human perception, and highlight the potential of unsupervised alignment methods to reveal detailed structural equivalence or differences that cannot be detected by simple correlation analysis.

Unifying Pairwise Interactions in Complex Dynamics

1 code implementation28 Jan 2022 Oliver M. Cliff, Annie G. Bryant, Joseph T. Lizier, Naotsugu Tsuchiya, Ben D. Fulcher

Scientists have developed hundreds of techniques to measure the interactions between pairs of processes in complex systems.

General anesthesia reduces complexity and temporal asymmetry of the informational structures derived from neural recordings in Drosophila

1 code implementation30 May 2019 Roberto N. Muñoz, Angus Leung, Aidan Zecevik, Felix A. Pollock, Dror Cohen, Bruno van Swinderen, Naotsugu Tsuchiya, Kavan Modi

In contrast to prior work, our results show that: (1) Complexity differences can emerge at very short timescales and across broad regions of the fly brain, thus heralding the macroscopic state of anesthesia in a previously unforeseen manner, and (2) that general anesthesia also modulates the temporal asymmetry of neural signals.
