The Milky Way total mass profile as inferred from Gaia DR2

1 code implementation11 Nov 2019 Marius Cautun, Alejandro Benitez-Llambay, Alis J. Deason, Carlos S. Frenk, Azadeh Fattahi, Facundo A. Gómez, Robert J. J. Grand, Kyle A. Oman, Julio F. Navarro, Christine M. Simpson

We provide a best-fitting contracted NFW halo model to the MW rotation curve that matches the data very well.

Dark matter halo shapes in the Auriga simulations

1 code implementation9 Oct 2019 Jesus Prada, Jaime E. Forero-Romero, Robert J. J. Grand, Ruediger Pakmor, Volker Springel

We compare the results in full magnetohydrodynamics against dark matter only simulations and find a strong influence of baryons in making dark matter haloes rounder at all radii compared to their dark matter only counterparts.

The globular cluster system of the Auriga simulations

2 code implementations5 Sep 2019 Timo L. R. Halbesma, Robert J. J. Grand, Facundo A. Gómez, Federico Marinacci, Rüdiger Pakmor, Wilma H. Trick, Philipp Busch, Simon D. M. White

We find that the Auriga simulations do produce sufficient stellar mass for GC candidates at radii and metallicities that are typical for the MW GC system (GCS).

The velocity anisotropy of the Milky Way satellite system

2 code implementations24 Oct 2018 Alexander H. Riley, Azadeh Fattahi, Andrew B. Pace, Louis E. Strigari, Carlos S. Frenk, Facundo A. Gómez, Robert J. J. Grand, Federico Marinacci, Julio F. Navarro, Rüdiger Pakmor, Christine M. Simpson, Simon D. M. White

We analyse the orbital kinematics of the Milky Way (MW) satellite system utilizing the latest systemic proper motions for 38 satellites based on data from $Gaia$ Data Release 2.
